After the praying man in this piece was completed, I spread a thick layer of black over the entire painting to symbolize the darkness of sin. I then squeezed a sponge brush saturated with diluted red dye onto the blackness. The red dye, symbolized the blood of Jesus, washed away the blackness completely.
Jesus shed His blood to take away our sins away. Streaks of the red dye remain on the finished painting.
Salvation will never leave those who are born again!
