Victorious

Jesus gave his life on the cross for each of our sins. He faced to ultimate physical pain and humiliation, but rose to victory 3 days later. In the painting, Jesus is nailed to the cross, but also crushing the head of a snake. Of course this didn’t physically happen. The snake represents Satan (and ultimately sin). The painting shows the Lord Jesus Christ defeating them both by sacrificing Himself.
