At the place of the skull Jesus was crucified. I am constantly surprised at how much emphasis people put on Jesus on the cross. To me, it is much more powerful to know that Jesus is no longer on the cross and resurrected from the tomb. The painting might be a little hard to see, but in the shadow of the cross, is the Arabic writing that means “for you.” If you look at it just right, you can see the skull that seems to be in the side of the mountain.
