Another painting that took a good while complete, the thorns almost drove me crazy. I am fairly pleased with how the painting turned out though. Amidst the thorns, you can just barley see the Arabic words spelling “grace.” I always recall the popular Sunday school acronym for grace as God’s riches at Christ’s expense.
I little bit hard to see, “Lamb” shows a shepherd holding a young lamb. The brightest part of the painting is the hand securing the animal and not the sheep’s fleece. Mary’s little lamb this is not. A shepherd will search for a lost sheep…
“Listen” depicts the moment when Peter draws his sword on the soldiers seeking to arrest Jesus from John 18. I shaded the background first to emphasize the face and the sword. The most important part of this piece, however, is Jesus’ reflection in Peter’s sword.…
