Adam

Adam was created in God’s own image formed from the ground by The Almighty himself.  This painting portrays the moment God breathed the breath of life into Adam’s nostrils, and he is about to open his eyes for the first time.  I visualized Adam to be crusted in mud/dirt and, as he moves his first movements, the dirt is falling off of him in clumps like a cracked shell.  There is a tremendous amount of texture in this painting due to dirt from my backyard encased in the based paint layer as well as mixed into the shades of paint used to show the imagery.
