Roar

Society today views Christians as weak, timid people who have little to no power.  In today’s same society, demonic entities and those influenced and/or possessed by demons are viewed as monstrous individuals with so much strength and power that they are feared.  The month of October seems to be dedicated to this fear and that fear has filled nearly every corner of our society so much that it is celebrated.  That’s right, the celebration of fear – embracement of fear. Celebration of demonic activity – EMBRACEMENT of DEMONIC activity!

At first look, your eye is drawn to the bright colors – you might not have even seen the imagery right away, but it’s a roaring lion.  Less obvious, but easier to see is the faint imagery of a man’s face looking to the right.  Unlike the roaring lion, the man is hardly visible and silent.

This painting does NOT portray the different sides of the spiritual realm – a loud, monstrous, demonic side, and a silent, passive side.  This painting represents meekness.

That’s right, meekness – power under control.  Loud doesn’t mean out of control, bold doesn’t mean out of control.  Jesus is the Lion of the tribe of Judah, and we are to strive to be like him as CHRISTians.  Jesus continually demonstrated meekness and restrained his power through self-control.  Jesus also was loud when he needed to be, bold when he needed to be – he never did lose control though.

What will we accept as Christians? Do we accept a celebration of fear in this season?  Do we allow “innocent” watered down aspects of demonic activity and expect them to remain watered down and not impact our lives – our children’s lives?  Do we close our eyes and stay silent?  Do we open our mouths with bold conviction and separate ourselves and our children from obvious demonic influence?

The fall season, the month of October, the last week of the 10th calendar month, I’ll say it, Halloween is a time for Christians to open their mouths and get loud.  WE ARE NOT timid!  WE ARE POWERFUL!  The demons shutter when a convicted Christian opens their mouth! They tremble and fall to their knees when the name of Jesus is spoken.  Demons are NOT monsters looming above us, they ARE NOT looking us dead in the eye as equals, they ARE beneath us.  Our feet are on their throats, and we allow ourselves and our children to not only let them have their demonic celebration, but to be part of it!
