Revelation 1:13-14

Revelation 19:11-13

Jesus rides from Heaven and towards earth to defeat evil and usher in His Kingdom.  An angel army rides behind him.

His eyes are fixed ahead – he does not waiver.  His eyes burn with GLORY and POWER.  The imagery depicts Him leaning forward toward His destination quickening the speed of the horse.  The white horse and Christ’s described white hair combine here.  The darker parts of the painting that allow the white to contrast against it are purple as a King would wear with hints of deep crimson – with a more concentrated amount right behind Jesus on His robe before it turns pure white.

Before Jesus lies the evil from a fallen world where the devil has been operating, killing, and destroying.  Jesus’ intense gaze remains fixed.  The moment from the horse through Heaven towards earth at incredible speed is emphasized by flowing white hair.  Jesus’ gaze remains fixed amongst the turbulence.  The evil present on the earth will be met with a fight that it will certainly lose.  Jesus’ fiery gaze remains fixed.  The world created to be paradise had been left broken, but after this ride – after this fight, the broken earth will be cleansed, won, … fixed.
