A simple design that I feel is visually bold, this painting depicts the chariot of fire that took Elijah to Heaven. This is one hard image not only to paint, but to see. You have to be far away from the painting (or look at a scaled down digital image) to see the passenger, the chariot wheels, and the horse’s body and legs. Hidden in the fiery blaze is the entire chariot. Oh, and did you know that a horse’s head is one truly difficult thing to paint?
