Crown

God has given each of us talents. Those who choose to accept Salvation through God’s Son Christ Jesus will be in God’s presence in Heaven for eternity after their time alive on earth has ended. The accepting of Salvation is more than a reward in Heaven after a Christian’s life, it is a conversion.

Those born again exist as a new creation on earth as the Holy Spirit lives within them. True believers are citizens of the Kingdom of God and make Jesus Lord of their lives here on earth. As Kingdom citizens, true Christians live for God in all aspects of their lives. Their talents are put to work for the benefit and expansion of God’s Kingdom.

In this piece, the swords represent life aspects and talents given to Christians by God. Brothers and sisters in Christ combine their talents and use them in divine partnership to Glorify God and expand His Kingdom. Here, the swords are driven into the ground at various angles. Any one sword viewed alone doesn’t show the whole imagery of the entire group of swords forming the shape of a crown. It is where talents of Christian men and women aligned with God’s direction crown Him King of all!

The swords vary as talents vary. Some are smaller or larger. Some are struck at different degrees, levels, and angles, but these variations are vital for the formation of God’s purpose for His Kingdom on this world.

This painting was painted specifically for a man of God and his barbershop. In ancient days, soldiers would often use swords to cut their hair out of necessity. The three pieces of canvas form one image just as the many swords form one crown, but each canvas features its own depiction of the barber occupation. The center canvas displays a crude barber striped pole, the left canvas hides an image of a beard being shaven by a flat blade, and the right canvas shows a length of hair being sliced by a long sword.
